In another burning instance of social degradation, a murder convict raped a five years old  minor girl and left her in jungle with multiple injuries on Tuesday night. But, the local villagers of Debnath Para of Narayanpur village under Gandacherra subdivision on Wednesday morning taking inactiveness of local police administration managed to catch the raped accused and tied him in a tree and beat him to death.
The shocking incident of brutality reported on Tuesday night, when the parents of the victim girl started searching their daughter at Debnath Para village and located the girl nearby jungle after hearing her screaming, where she was lying in the ground with multiple injuries.

Sources said that a ritual for last rites (Shrad) was going on at a neighbour house of the victim girl and taking advantages of loneliness, accused Ratan Acharjee (48), a murder convict and after 12 years of jail term, he returned to his native village, lured the victim girl and brought her in a nearby jungle. After committing the heinous crime of human society, rape accused left the spot leaving victim girl in necked position with multiple injuries.

At about 10 PM of Tuesday night, the victim minor girl was located by hear parents and other neighbours and the subsequently informed the police. After primary aids, the minor girl narrated the brutality to her parents and local villagers had launched a massive manhunt to trace the accused. By the time, police had also launched their search operation to arrest accused, but unable to find out him.

On Wednesday morning, local villagers along with several women managed to detained accused Ratan Acharjee from Bankarghat village under same police station and tied him with a tree. They also informed the police about his detention, but before police rushed to the spot, angry villagers lynched him to death.

Later, police shifted rape accused to subdivisional hospital and was admitted, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Amidst escalating tension in the Debnath Para locality after the lynching incident, police had detained six local villagers and protesting detention of six persons, local villagers mostly are women blockaded the Gandacherra-Ambassa road and had also gheraoed the Gandacherra police station. Later, a senior police official of the district has also rushed to the spot to ease the situation and they somehow managed to withdrawn the road blockade. While, police administration has also deployed large number of security forces in entire Narayanpur village to defuse the escalating tension.
