NDRI Scientists done a lot for livestock development in Tripura

 

ICAR-NDRI scientists Dr. S.K Das, Principal Scientist, Dr. D.K Mandal, Principal Scientist and Dr. S. Rai, Scientist have come from ICAR-NDRI-ERS, Kalyani to visit some villages under Gomati District of Tripura in connection with NEH Project-NDRI component for livestock development programme.

On Tuesday last, the programmes were organized here at Bagma area of Gomati District Tripura with the cooperation of Bagma Agri Producer Organisation (BAPCL) for scientific livestock development in different villages of Tripura. The scientists’ team has done different activities like Interaction with the dairy farmers and experts, veterinary health camp and distribution of different inputs to the farmers. The inputs like goats, chicks, animal feed, mineral mixture and other necessary inputs were distributed among the farmers for the benefit of farmers in order to increase their income as double.

The state Tripura is an important state in the North-East in which a FPO namely BAPCL guided by NABARD is doing for the benefit of farmers in order to increase their income because the farmers income important for the development of the country’s economy. Keep in view the government has taken important policy decisions to support the farmers for their farming activities.

In course of conversation with Chairman of BAPCL Sudip Majumder has said that the company BAPCL has formed with the guidance of NABARD, Tripura Regional Office and there are more than five hundred farmers are directly involve with this company as share holder. The company is doing different types of project based activities like Beekeeping, Bamboo Plantation, Dairy, Fishery, Seed Village programme under Rice Productionand many more.

The company BAPCL is doing a lot to establish a dairy based industry in the state Tripura for the benefit of farmers because there are a good numbers of farmers are here in Bagma area doing dairy farming for living their live. So the government may come forward in order to help BAPCL for establishing milk processing unit here in Bagma under Gomati District of Tripura, said Babul Debnath, Officer of BAPCL.
